Options for those who want to lead and serve
Olathe’s civic and community groups span a history of service to our community of over 100 years.
For several reasons, membership in a civic or community group (a nonprofit) is important.
It provides a voice. Being a member of a nonprofit gives you a voice in the group’s decision-making processes. You have the ability to provide feedback, make suggestions, and help shape the group’s direction.
It fosters community. Membership in a nonprofit can foster a sense of community and belonging. You may have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share similar values, interests, and passions.
It supports the organization’s mission. Nonprofits rely on the support of their members to achieve their mission. Membership dues and contributions help fund programs and services.
It provides access to resources. Members may have access to resources such as training and development opportunities, networking events, and other benefits.
It can have a broader impact. By supporting a nonprofit through membership, you can contribute to the greater good and make a positive impact in our community and beyond.
Finding a group that matches with your interest and passion (maybe even more than one) is how you bloom where you are planted. Joining a group can provide you with a sense of purpose, community, and impact. It can also help support the group’s mission and contribute to positive social change.
